Journal - Ride 6, KOM

KOM?

 

A KOM is basically why Strava is so addicting and why Strava URGES you to become better and better! Basically, a KOM is an abbreviation to - King of the Mountain, which refers to some kind of record time in some kind of road in some kind of country against some kind of people on some kind of leaderboard...COMPETITION IS KEY!

Today's ride was quite uncontrollably windy and rather unpleasant. So that's why I decided to cut the ride short and focus on some hills and attempt to break a KOM...Which I did!

This is the steepest part of the Ramla to Nadur climb, specifically the very first bit until the road somewhat flattens out. I must admit, I almost gave up! My heart actually started to ache at a heart rate of above 195bpm and my whole body was shaking!!! COOL STUFF RIGHT ?!

But as I've stated in my previous blog post, never stop and keep on climbing!

That was basically it for today. I did do some more hills but decided to call it a day to store some energy for tomorrow's group ride.
