Journal - Ride 28, Hills and Speed

Hey

Nope, no short description! I'll be combining 2 rides in this single blog post because I was too lazy last Wednesday to write a blog post about.....you guessed it, Wednesday's Ride!

20th April Wednesday's Ride

T'was a very interesting ride of continuous laps, cycling through Xewkija to Qala for about 8 times or so.

Why ?

P5 Buddy (The Time Trial-Aerospace bike)!

....But why?

Quite persistent of you...As i've addressed it countless times, there just aren't enough straight roads with minimal intersections and traffic. Since they fixed the road between Xewkija and Qala, it is quite literally - heaven for the P5 and for lapping. And to top it all off, the weather was pristine! Apart from the wind that is...Oh well...

Anyway, it was quite fun averaging a constant 33km/h for the whole ride and reaching a maximum speed of....

72.7KM/H

Which is not enough! I will not rest until I break the 80km/h barrier! No, I'm not mad. At all. Really. Honestly. Maybe a bit..

22nd April Friday's Ride

Today's ride was also, a ton of fun!

*Brief pause*

You must be asking yourself - "Is cycling ever NOT fun ?"

The answer to that question is simply, NO, NEVER.

CYCLING IS AWESOME. ALL THE DAMN TIME.

except when there's nasty motorists who have no idea how to drive or drive at 20km/h in the middle of the damn road *rant out*

As I was saying, today's ride was great, first of all, the weather was flawless, a combination of little to no wind, cloudy skies and it wasn't even cold.

As per usual...and you probably anticipated what I'm about to write now..

Yep, I did some very nasty and glorious...HILLS!

Nothing new there...What's new is a KOM on an off the beaten track hill (or at least it was for me till 3 weeks ago)

It goes without saying, that hill is a serious back breaker. It is quite possible the hardest hill I've attempted. Anyway...I'll create a blog post about it someday so enough about that hill!

Back to what I was saying...Hills...Cycled up a few more hills such as - Qala to Nadur, Dwejra twice, Zebbug hill and some other minor hills. There were some clueless motorists towards the end of the ride however, whatever!

Great day indeed.

IT WAS A GREAT DAY UNTIL I NOTICED THAT..

AGAIN

I STOPPED AT 49.9KM
