What to do?

Woke up clueless as to what I should do today as for cycling. Being someone who loves to do hills (i'm sure you've noticed), I resorted to doing some (a lot) of hills.

The Start

Starting off, it was great, the weather wasn't all too hot, the wind hadn't set in yet and I had high spirits. I decided to start off with Triq Tac-Cawl climb as a starter hill so I can enjoy the glorious view (pic of the day features this). Anyway, I cycled down Triq Tac-Cawl slowly to enjoy the view and as I got to the bottom, my damn shoe clip broke on me.

The one at the top is a brand spanking new clip and the one at the bottom is well..a dead and fairly badly beaten shoe clip. LOOK AT THE POOR STATE OF THAT THING!

THIS IS VERY BAD BY THE WAY. The shoe clip keeps your shoes clipped into your bike's pedal so you can push and pull at a lot more power whilst being very efficient. And this happening at the bottom of a hill that I HAD to climb up in order to get back home is a worst case scenario. Somehow I made it up the 15 degree gradient hill with the power from 1 leg and I cycled back home where I changed my shoe clip so I would be able to continue my ride since I was at just 6km.

Nadur Hills

Anyway, I didn't let that deter me from my cycling and I went on to do the Qala to Nadur Hill a couple of times (10 times to be exact, I counted).

Qala to Nadur hill might be one of the best hills to cycle in Gozo. It's at a constant, easy 7 degree gradient and it is also quite long, at around 3 - 5 minutes of easy cycling with around 80 meters of ascension and it can be done in any weather! Only bad thing about it is some of the road itself being in poor condition (sadly). At no point did I get tired because the hill is the definition of calm-sailing, it is a great road to train for improving your hill-capacity (if that makes sense).

It eventually got very hot at around 11:20am and I decided to call it a day after a few more laps.
