Too Windy & Too Little Energy
Short description about today -
- Early Start
- Wind in my face
- Group Ride
- More hills
- Some more hills
- Straight roads
- Minus 1,000,000 Energy Level
Today's ride was anything but the norm of what is usually a calm and relaxing Sunday ride.
Started off at 6:50am, met up with Domenic, Brandon and Co and we (I) started the cycle.
It was extremely windy. 37 - 40km/h wind to be exact. And when you're on a bike, the winds makes a huge difference on how much you can push. Which is a good thing because it'll make you stronger in the long run but it was just a bit too much for me for this week.
Anyway, we cycled on and went on to do some hills - Dwejra, Zebbug, Marsalforn to Xaghra and Xatt straight to Nadur. At this point, my energy levels had depleted almost completely but we were going to do some straights so I decided to stick on!
Unknowingly, I had forgotten that the wind is at it's peak when you're heading dead on straight towards it....I had enough energy to do just 1 lap of Qala to Xewkija & back and off I went to home!
My legs still feel like expired jelly.
Glorious Recovery Days ahead!
