Short Description About Today
- NO DOMENIC!
- Fun Hillz
- YES DOMENIC!
- BURNIN WEATHER
I'm going to test out a 'recap' style approach to the blog for every end of the month. This went across my mind just before I slept yesterday, usually only sound ideas come hurtling into my mind at that time....let's see who this fairs.
Let's start off with the pretty numbers!
In July , I completed :
42 Hours and 29 Minutes on the saddle (my longest month since the beginning of the year)
32,359 Burnt Calories
All in 20 Rides
Achieving 3 Personal Records
I also completed the :
July Gran Fondo Achievement
For a single 130km ride, which I cycled for 131.9km *scraping the surface*
July Climbing Challenge Achievement
11,275 / 8000m Ascended
Specialized Recon Ride La Course Edition,
For cycling 89km in a single ride
Also I should have completed the July (1000km) Distance Challenge but for some reason my Strava is giving me 997 / 1000km yet it should be 1,024 / 1000 km...ah well, it's still in the legs!
Today's Ride started off just like every other Sunday Ride. Basically, we all met up along Qala Road, we usually do a few laps until everyone has assembled and grouped up cause what's a Sunday without a little group ride?
But...there was a slight twist for today's ride! Master Domenic was missing for undisclosed reasons.. :(, the MORAL !!! THE MORAL !!!
Crying aside...I met up with Josef (new road cyclist YI PEA!! :D, can never have enough pesky road cyclists!) and we did a few laps along the Qala Road until Gerard and Brandon arrived.
Then we obviously had to head over to San Lawrenz to check if the town had been obliterated from the feast celebrations of Saturday. To our un-bewildered surprise, the town was still largely intact (expect for those nasty and excessively dangerous road grates, MIGHT BE TIME TO FIX THEM!).
Then we headed down to Ramla and cycled up to Xaghra, separated from Gerard and Josef and me and Brandon went down to Marsalforn to have a chill and relax glass of pure, glorious sugar.
Just like a bullet.
A SPARK OF HOPE
Master Domenic calls.
MASTER DOMENIC IS ON THE FRIGGIN SADDLE!!!!
We flipped the table with excitement (not really), paid up and left to meet up with Domenic. We cycled for another lap on the Qala Road and that was it for me.
Quite a normal and fun Sunday Ride.
