Record & Mind Breaking

As I am writing this blog post, sipping on some coffee and enjoying a delicious biscuit I cannot help but feel sorry for all the traumatised motorists that were in our path this morning. I mean, having to wait behind 7 pesky cyclists is a real test of mental strength. So... for the havoc that we caused, for being nuisances and of course for hogging the road,  we are truly..sincerely...are not sorry... It was a heap ton of fun though so thanks for being patient and not going haywire on us!

Yeah, we were actually 7 cyclists, just try and picture that for a second...you creep up behind a corner and to your pleasant surprise, a flock of cyclists going at 30km/h are right in front of you and you realise that you are OBLIGED to push the pedal to metal or else your slow-cooked FTIRA way back at home (about 500meters away) will burn to smithereens !

Honestly though, I am yet to understand what the rush is all about on a sunny Sunday (7am - 9am) morning...whatever happened to cruising at 50km/h ???

Today's Ride (14th August)

Today's ride was a ton of fun, as I have already stated a couple of times....We were 7 cyclists (yes, I mentioned it again), joined by our Italian friend and the rest were all Gozitans (GOZO-POWER) and also Iron-Mike joined us! We cycled wherever we pleased, climbed up some nice hills (Xlendi/Dwejra/Nadur/Xaghra/Sannat from Xewkija), also kept a nice average speed and covered a satisfactory amount of distance too! Then we stopped for some coffee, a nice lil chat (most of it in Italian = didn't understand a word!!!!) and headed back home!
