Journal - Ride 87, The Longest Ride #3

Short Description About Today

  1. Longest ride in 2017 yet - 82.7km
  2. Sunday group ride!

And the next long ride will be 100k

Obviously wasn't today ...

the '#3' signifies the 3rd longest ride of the year, if you haven't figured it out.

For once, I decided to wake up extra early on a Sunday (for new readers, THIS IS EXTREMELY UNUSUAL). Usually, I wake up at 7:30/8am or so and head off to cycle at 8:45am but for today's ride, I wanted to cycle for an extended period.

And that's exactly what I did.

I woke up at around 6:15am, somehow got myself out of the bed, changed in about 5 mins and head off at around 6:40am. But holy crap the weather was COLD. Wearing half-finger gloves was a huge mistake and I almost left the house without a windbreaker gilet...would've been the end of me had I not put that on.

Anyway, the ride was great, the weather was great, the bike, surprisingly was great :D, everything went according to plan. I met up with the group an hour or so later however no Master Domenix was present this time. We cycled and cycled some coffee...each of us parted was at some point and then I continued to cycle for about an extra 45mins because I was mentally determined to either hit the 80km mark or at least 3 hours of cycling non-stop.

And another fun statistic - I burned about 2,500 calories

and my knees hate me right now

Which I did.

And surpassed

Super fun.
