1000 Hours on the Saddle!
Yep! You definitely read that right! After some very tumultuous years of cycling (around 3.5) I've finally made it to 1000 hours on the saddle! Which is approximately 41.7 full days! Quite a nice achievement indeed. Bring on the champagne!
Excuse the absence for this week but I was too focused on cycling itself, which is...what's actually important!
This week, although it hasn't actually ended yet, has been extremely rewarding (in Strava terms). Achieved another 2 KOMs which you can see below. Quite a painful set of KOMs.
The first one done in 7:45mins, covering 4.7km at an average speed of 36.9 km/h even though there were quite a few cars running about...
The second KOM, completed in 2:55, is a very devastating hill between Ramla and Xaghra which I scaled at an average speed of 16km/h, an average of 181 bpm heart rate and at an average of 10% gradient!! However, this KOM was claimed by an obvious cheater (not me) back in 2015 whom climbed the same hill in 1min 50 seconds at a miraculous speed of 25.5km/h !!! Can't really do anything about that...
Onto today's ride (Saturday 29th), t'was a very hilly one, the largest amount of hills for 2017 in fact (for me). Covering 1154m of elevation at an average speed of 23km/h and 66.2km distance covered. You can clearly see below where me and Andre cycled to or you can use the cool and interactive 'Relive' link. We also stopped for some coffee at good ol' Electra!
P.S - I achieved the last KOM during today's ride, quite a fitting reward.
