  4. INTERVALS
  5. WINDY

Such Wind, Much Speed

that's just a bit of internet-lingo, so if you didn't understand it, don't panic.

Basically means, it was a seriously windy day with some serious speed too! An average of 29-30km/h in 50km/h winds ain't all that bad ! Albeit, tailwinds do allow you to cheat but if you see my ride on 'Relive' (above), you'll see that it was just constant laps in Qala and Gharb to Rabat and back. It really gets you in the red!

'Gets you in the Red' Definition : practically bike-language when you're pushing yourself to your limit, just like how a car touches it's rev limiter (which is usually red), kinda the same thing on a bike.

Anyway, the ride started off way too early today due to other commitments. Woke up at 5:30am, my alarm was playing some soothing music which didn't wake me up at 5am as that was the expected time that I'd wake up but oh well... Then I was on the road at 6:15am, into some nasty winds, chilly 6am temperatures and a world of darkness.

Mishaps Mishaps...

It is quite common for me to encounter mishaps, probably more than humanly possible. This was about 10minutes into the ride. The first one occurred when, out of nowhere, my speed sensor decided to be a little bit cheeky and turn into my rear wheels' spoke and bam, the only thing it hit was my conveniently placed speed sensor magnet! What a start!

Rant Over!

That Sunrise

That sunrise though! Mind-boggling how beautiful it was to watch over at Ghasri! Photo below.

That was pretty much it...It certainly wasn't the usual 'Fun, relax, easy, coffee-fuelled' Sunday ride this week. Quite the complete opposite!

P.S

Congrats to Brandon Sultana for his involvement in the Tour of Malta, placing 32nd as his first time ever racing the tour which is very impressive!

And congrats to Greg Van Avermaet for winning the 2017 Paris Roubaix! Happy Retirement to Tom Boonen, the champion of the cobbles, winning Paris Roubaix 4 times!
